Window Film Removal Services For Home and Commercial Windows (Without damaging windows)

In this video, we share our proven window film removal process to remove old film safety without causing harm to the windows.

Looking to get old window film removed off your home or business windows?

Overtime, older window film on flat glass can start to bubble (due to glue failure), fade into purple, brown, or bluish colors, get scratched up and start peeling, and degrade the look of any home or business.

Window film installed 10 years ago or longer back tends to start falling apart due to old window film technology compared to today’s new window film selections.

Our goal with any window film removal project is not ONLY to remove the old excising film, but ensure nothing is damaged during the removal process.

We follow a strict 3 step process to ensure we removed the film safely without cracking, scratching, or damaging the windows.

Step 1: Inspect the window film currently on the window to see the type of window film and the condition it is in along with the type of window its currently installed on.

Step 2: Depending on the current condition of the window film, we test different methods to take off the film such as…

Method 1: We use a steamer designed to remove film by melting off the glue stuck to the window.

Method 2: We use our signature mixed solution and scraper to remove film that is brittle and stuck more aggressively to the window .

However, in special circumstances we do use a few other methods to ensure the film is taken off as effectively as possible.

Step 3: After we carefully remove the window film off the window, we do a deep clean with our signature mixed solution and scrub pads to ensure any glue left behind is taken off and the glass is restored back to new and as clear as possible.

How Much Does Window Film Removal Cost?

Window film removal is charged per square foot.

The cost per square foot is $2-$3 for window film removal. We understand that may seem like a large gap in price, however, it comes down to the type of film currently installed on your glass.

If the window film is a standard commercial or residential film that is ONLY scratched or bubbling but is still in its original factory colored film, it will cost $2 per square foot.

However, if the window film has turned purple and become brittle, more labor is involved to take off the window film and it will cost $2.50 per square foot for removal.

The only reason a window film removal project will cost $3 per square foot for removal, will be if it’s a security film or graffiti film.

Since security/ graffiti window film usually has the strongest adhesive and it’s the thickest film, its usually the hardest window film to remove and because of that it tends to be more expensive.

However, Don’t be worried, from our experience 95% of the time a window film removal job will be quoted at $2-$2.50 per square foot for removal.

Its only in rare cases that the price will go above $2.50 per square foot so don’t be too worried that you will be quoted for the higher price per square foot.

However, after every window film removal project, we always leave our clients with different window film samples they can look through and compare if they feel they want to install new window film in the future using todays new film technologies.
